yes I'm afraid your right, since the demise of nagra 3 a lot of members who would have participated in other topics have drifted away and unfortunately in my opinion the forum is slowly dying

Same on most forums too but this site was too strict on football banter so there is no football banter.. shame on the mods that have killed it . SHAME ON YOU, . The footie section used to be fun, now its dead. Time for mods to move on and enter the 21st century.

Perhaps you should take it up with Brian, the owner, and boss, who gave enough warnings that the "banter" was over the top and offensive, you are always welcome to contact him.

As I recall, didn't you complain, that you thought some of the "banter" was racist and offensive to you?

Personally I'd wait a few weeks, until the start of the new season, before writing off the sports section, as at the moment all you hear are rumours, not even any major signings, and most teams are on their usual, money making, pre-season tours

I thought the banter in the football section was hilarious myself, but tended to be spoilt by people not seeing it for what it was and taking things too seriously.

Yes racist banter IS out of order but the usual liverpool v manu etc etc is fun. You and a couple of others have killed the sports section !!! Maybe take a leaf out of Robbo's book as to how to moderate!!!! Again shame on you, are you happy now that the sports section is DEAD....well done

As usual you are completely wrong. I fought to keep the football section open, even using the PM system to try and get the few idiots, who were abusing the forum, to stop their personal arguments.
Unfortunately this didn't happen, even after Brian, the boss, repeatedly warned you, that it would be closed, if the abuse continued, but yet again the idiots ignored the warnings.
Some members failed to take into account that this is an open forum, for satellite and technology, and can be accessed by children, whose parents might find your "banter" obscene and abusive.
Friendly banter is acceptable, swearing, racism, and personal insults are not, something some members again ignored.
If you want to congratulate one member, for helping get the football section closed, then I suggest you look in the mirror.
And please try to get your facts correct the next time you post.

The football section is not closed... its just not used anymore!!
If you look down the list of threads you'll see i started most of them. All of them are clean descent posts, so i suggest you wind your neck in sir.

How stupid can you be, the football section was REMOVED, and replaced with a general sports chat area.

You are too stupid to bother with anymore, you make stupid, erroneous, comments, blaming me, personally, for the sports section being dead, and the mods being over sensitive, yet I still haven't infracted you.

As I told you, a long time ago, when Brian decided to remove the football section, this was due to some members behaviour, and nothing to do with the mods. We were instructed to infract the abusive, stupid, members more, and perhaps I was lax in doing so, as this would have meant a number of members being banned, if only temporarily, which I try to avoid, when possible.

We were also instructed, at the time of the football section being removed, to stop any chat regarding football, again we wanted to give members a chance to talk about football, without becoming abusive, making stupid comments, and just posting to wind other fans up, known as baiting.
Most members have followed these guide lines, but of course there are always the odd exception.

Once again I remind you that if you have any complaints you are free to contact Brian, the boards owner, and express them.
