Default How to play Blu Ray discs on PC?

I have a blu-ray rewriter on my Windows 7 PC for creating backup discs.

I figured as it's a blu-ray player, I should be able to play blu-ray discs.

However, just tried to watch something, and while PowerDVD launched, it came up with this error:

This content is only allowed on a digital output. Ensure your device uses a DVI, HDMI, or display port connector. (Error code = 0121)
I presume this is part of the Windows 7 inbuilt DRM rights protection?

In which case, is there a simple way around this, or most I absolutely use a TV watch blu-ray discs, and never on my PC?

Is your monitor VGA Brian? Blu-rays play fine under Win7 on my PC, with Nero Kwik Media, but my monitor is DVI.

Doesn't VLC Media Player support Blu-ray disc playback?

It plays 1080p MKV just fine so I assume it will play discs too.

It wouldn't play them for me, hence Kwik Media
