Default Non Cabled Area Glasgow

Hi, moving to a new build property and it appears its not been cabled - Can anyone help with the best phone/internet provider as I am reliant on internet usage alot because of my disability. Have been with VM but not able to offer in the G32 area. Is Sky my best option and what does up to 2mb/4mb actually mean given I had 10mb with VM. Thanks the stress of moving is making it difficult to co-ordinate services etc

I think if you get Sky TV you get a good deal on their broadband and phone services if taking them all together, so it might be the best (cheapest option)...

You can still choose Virgin to be your ISP, but as you know it wont be a cable service...

The quality of the broadband connection would be pretty much the same from any ISP you might choose, its the quality of the phone line that essentially dictates how good it will be, because the speeds you can expect all depend on how far from the exchange you are, and the quality of the line from there into your home.. You might be paying for an upto 8mb service, but you might only ever be able to achieve a much lower speed... When you choose a provider, and before you sign up, they should normally give you a realistic estimate of speed you can expect..

If its FAST internet you desire then you might be able to get Infinity, thats upto 40mb, all depends if its available in your area... But if all your doing is just general browsing and sending emails then Infinity is a bit over the top for such purposes..

Thnaks for your reply - BT & VM only offering via phone line - with all the properties around the new build site (surrounding the site) being cabled, it is frustating. Guess its all down to who you use be it primus, talk talk, bt etc. Any idea how the o2/orange service works? Is this phone line or wfi? thanks

Not being offered on this new estate - strange BT has been installed in every new property - they missed an opportunity maybe
