I have recently purchased a Eurovox Max from a dealer on eBay, today I received an email saying delivery will be delayed a couple of days as new firmware is due to be released on the 6th of June.

They say they want to update all their boxes before shipping, is this true or a delaying tactic, they originally promised next day delivery.

This is the email, less the identifying info.

We intend to load this latest software to all current & new orders FREE OF
CHARGE and ship all orders(loaded with NEW software) on Wednesday 6th June
2007 - to arrive to you (UK postcodes only) NEXT DAY Thursday 7th June 2007.

You will be notified of your tracking information when your item is despatched.

If you prefer NOT to receive the latest software on your order, please advise
BEFORE 2PM today.

could be true m8 last new firmware was feb so were due some as the dreaded "please wait code updating" has started to come back since all the key changes

I like the "extra widescreen formats" bit. Could this finally mean it will support proper 16:9?
Wonder if this f/w could be used for the Blue box version too.

surley theyll do it for blue box too as theres alot more blues out there than reds

I'm expecting delivery of my box in the morning, part of the deal is that I get access to all the latest software via some website or by email, if I can get my hands on the file I will post a link.

Unless of course the whole story was a smoke screen to delay orders due to a lack of stock, in which case I won't be very happy and will leave neg feedback for this trader.
