EuroVox Max(blue) firmware question

Is there a way of telling what firmware my box has without hooking it up with a null modem cable to a pc?. I am on N^L mmds(ariel) digital here in Dublin and have been getting a few "Please wait code being up dated" messages. IT will always work afterwords but was wondering if flashing it with a different firmware might help

press the menu button on remote control..
enter 0000 for the pin number..
move to config...
then scroll down to system info and press ok..
you will then see the firmware information

Mine has stopped working all together now. All i get are channels 1 to 5 and thats it. I really need to flash my system but i have no idea how to do it. i know i have to connect to my PC via a r32 cable and thats it, anything beyond that and im stuffed. My system needs sorting out asap.

Can anyone give a detailed non tech-no way of guiding me on how to approach this firmware update problem.

I have heard via other forums that a new update has been released on the 6/6/07 resulting in the eurovox being able to view programs in widescreen, this update i need, how i get it is another thing.

Any help would be great

To re-flash your box you will need the program DnUpMan or one of the others doing the rounds, you will also need the Eurovox .bin file, then follow the instructions below:-

Connect a 9 pin com lead from your PC to the back of the Eurovox.
The box does not need to be connected to a cable line while updating.
Open the Dabba Man/DNUPMAN application
In the firmware box click on the Browse button and go to the image file you are going to use (it will be a “.bin” file)

Select the file you are going to use then click DOWNLOAD.

A box will come up saying Version 1 detected (or depending on whether it’s been flashed before or not this might say Version 1.20 etc). Click START.

A system reset box will now come up so remove the power lead to begin the flashing. (if it was flashed before there will be no need to turn/off ).

A progress bar wil now come up that says “sending”
Once this reaches 100% a writing box will come up as it writes the file. This normally takes just over a minute.

When finished the words
“DOWNLOAD Successful” will appear.

You should now have 0000 on the front of the box.


Thats it your done.

ive tried to send you the eurovox max programe and file to the email addres you gave me @gmail but i keep getting an error saying there is a problem with the address and wont send to that email...

Hi, Thanks for the quick response guys. I think I have found the software at box.net and hopefully it is the right one. Can anyone verify if all the instructions on there are good to go?

I'm gona have to update my eurovox max box tonight,I keep getting 'Code updating' all the time i think i have October 2006 firmware. This latest firmware will be ok on mine wont it?
