Default what box to get

Hopefully this thread may save a lot of bother for many people later on ......
The majority of people seem to buy boxes from good old fleabay before they get taken off. Im hoping to get people to add to this thread just to say what they got and if it works in their area. Im saying this cos I have a T* AND an NTHELL one and both work here in T* land. I have a CW one and I just cant get it to go. We know sammy wont go here either. I have read of Davics and Docis boxes but whats what? Will a Cw box ever work on T* feed? Anyone else had any problems like this? So, what boxes work in what areas?

how does one go about such a task? Do I have to remove them or can it be done in the box?

Here is a map of ntl areas

ImageShack - Hosting :: ntlmaplu9.jpg

If you live in an area starting 1,2 or 6 you are in a Davic zone.

If it starts 3,4 or 5 you are in a Docsis zone.

I have read this recently so not 100% sure if it is accurate.
I'm sure if someone knows better(which is highly probable) they
will put me right.

I can see what area I am in but does anyone know how I can fix my problem. Its a 1000 box. Have bk and ird. Done freq and net id and pin. Done autoupdate card with latest flash. Box boots up and updates but stays on 0. Screen says "channels not available may be due to cable unplugged" and stays on that no matter how long its left for

How did you obtain the IRD and BK? was it through the database or did you do a jtag? normally when channels are stuck on '0' it means wrong details, have you tried putting in the IRD the other way round?

I used led simm, checked numbers and they match the database too. I have entered IRD back to front and right way round. Same result.

If details are correct, then it might be a problem with the card, are you using toxic 7 or rhv1 to create a file? and what type of fun card are using?
