Default quick question.. new eurovox max red

Hello,

I will be getting a new eurovox max red tom and wanted to confirm few things. Before i plug it in, does anything need to be done. Am being told its on the latest firmware i.e. dated 15/03/2007.

I know like the standard cable boxes we had to make sure talk back was disabled?

Anything such for eurovox max.

Thanks in advance!

When I installed mine for the first time I just plugged it in and did a power scan on full got over 250 channels, no problem. Not sure how you'd disable talk back but don't think you need to worry about that.

Cool, thanks for the confirmation. Why do we need to put the latest firmware all the time? Does it stop working and needs to be reflashed with the latest firmware???

The Eurovox doesn't have Talkback ~ recommendation is that you use a splitter & keep the original box that your cable supplier provided, as these have Talkback enabled.

The latest 010607 firmware provides some improvements to the EPG & allegedly fixes some security holes.

Hello,

I have never had a original box, when i moved into the house we had a NTL line already there and the my first box was ntl pace 1000 1b where i was getting all the channels.

So i can assume i am safe just pluggin it in, right?

Result ... you've won a watch if the line is live.
