Default advice on cabling

Hello,

Can someone please advice me on a setup. Currently i have two boxes for cable. I have used a splitter after the line is in my house.

I am looking to add one/two more on a different room. I am sure this would affect the signalling right? How can i improve it. Someone mentioned a booster from Argos is that good.

Also with the booster, where is the best location to put, after splitting i.e. when i have used the splitter or before that.

Also for splitting to different lines, is it best to do it from the greenbox outside the house or is that a NO NO to touch.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers!!!!

Don't touch the green box. I'm assuming you have a legitimate box and several other boxes. Use a 2 way split before your legitimate box, feed one side to your legit box and feed the other side to a 4 way amplifier, you then have 4 feeds to go to other boxes.

A legitimate box or cable modem will NOT work properly through a domestic amplifier.

my setup is feed into house split to 2 then those cables are again split. Standard 2 way 5-1000Mhz splitters. No loss of signal for receiving channels. Only plug box to main feed if I need to force an update otherwise they update themselves. (The one on the 3rd floor does take 2 seconds for channel info to clear when changing channels but Im not calling the cable guys to complain! ...lol
