Help Needed With Euro Vox Max

Hi all.

I'm new to the euro vox and new to the forum's.

I have just purchased my 1st eurovox max from a seller on ebay.
I unpacket it and connected it as shown on the booklet diagram.
I run a channel scan as told to and i have got nothing ??
The set up of my wiring consists of : Telewest(virgin now) box on outside of wall / 1 wire running to my broadband upstairs / 1 wire running to what was the tv box downstairs to the tv.

I have connected the eurovox to the cable coming into the livvy from the outside wall and done all the other connections as per booklet.

Am i missing something here ??
I was told by a mate who also doesnt have telewest tv only broadband internet that he gets all his channels through the eurovox no problems without subscribing to the lowest package ??? Is this true or is this what im not doin right ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i bought this as a surprise for the mrs...guess what...she aint impressed with the surprise.

which type of scan did you run and auto one or a power scan? if it was the auto retry on powerscan.

as well as doing a powerscan, try switching the symbol rate between 6.952 & 6.887. Different areas of the country use different rates.

Hi if ive read this right you say what was the tv box down stairs if you have canceled your tv packages but kept the broadband you may find they have removed the splitter in the box outside and just connected your broadband direct to the cable feed coming in as this is what they did at my mates house hope i read your post right .

Check to make sure your connections are firmly connected.

Can't get ay channels . It is coming up on the screen , please wait code being updated . It then takes about 2-3 hours for the channels to come back . Then when they do they last for about 15 minutes. Then the screen freezes and comes up please insert smart card.Does anyone know how to fix this ? P.s the euro-vox i have it cardless
