Someone said the widescreen was slightly improved, but I see absolutely no difference at all, and this was not mentioned in the release notes. I think the major change in this release is that it will likely kill the cloned Eurovoxes. How cynical.

Your lucky then, fair enough yours isn't a cloned box, but this posting is meant as a warning to others to say unless your 100% sure u don't have a cloned box then don't make my mistake and have ur box killed.
like I say I paid £90 for it last week and it was working fine, in hindsite i wish I'd left is as it was cos it was working fine so it's my own fault and I've Blown £90, but there was no warning that if using the June software that this would happen, I'm just trying to make people aware of what can happen to theres if unsure. But hopefuly someone can come up with a fix for me to get it working again, don't fancy doing what I believe is the only soloution Jtagging it cos wouldn't have a clue how to do it, so is there anyone who can help me. "so it's my own fault"
its not your fault m8,if your supplier sold it you as a genuine box all youve done is update it with genuine firmware so youve not done anything wrong, get on to him and demand a refund or if you paid through paypal open a claim. |

New update,
if you buy a blue box off ebay, it is definately a clone. Info comes from another forum and will answer your question on how to identify the clones from the original; i have just got off the blower to the sole distributor of the Eurovox Max about the clones. I was informed the blue box have been cloned. It has been cloned by some dude name Andy. I was also told that anyone selling blue boxes is selling clones. The distributor himself is only supplying the blue boxes for those units that require a warranty replacement within 6 months. This is a like for like replacement, and is not for sale, i.e. blue boxes. The cloned blue boxes have very thin cardboard packaging & the inside of the flip down display panel lid is not sprayed completely black like the original. It is actually still silver. A new software will be released which will brick the cloned boxes upon firmware upgrade. Like what has happened to the starviews. There will be hundreds of people who have purchased a blue box from ebay & will upgrade the software upon gaining knowledge of the new updates. I'd personally stay well clear of the clones. This info is fact. Buy from a reliable source is my advise This type of post has been doing the rounds for about 10 days now and its on every forum i visit. People really should read all the info before messing with there euro's. Im not trying to slate anyone here but over 10 days ago people were told to steer clear of blue boxes as they are clones and the new firmware would brick them.

can some one help me, I'm pretty certain i got a cloned box cos when i updated to june firmware it made my box poorly, it's on standby and won't function at all, I heard other people flashed with same firmware and thier boxes ok
what i wanna know is this 1 if the eurovoxes go down original or cloned how do we get them working again, does some genius write new firmware. 2 if my box is cloned like i think it is and someone writes new firmware if they get zapped, i think got cloned box, so if I update new firmware, it might make my new cloned box poorly again, can't keep splashing out £90 a time. 3 Can someone please sell me 4 eurovox max 2006 boxes (got to be 100% not Cloners) if so I'm in Manchester area and cash is waiting if can deliver. hi, i recently bought a couple of eurovox boxes from ebay. they turned out to cloned ones. they cost me £90 each. was not happy. Hwever i've just purchased another one now from a website i found called computerperson.. cost me £130 but was given guarentee plus full support via e-mail and phone calls. it was quite easy to get it up and running but the fact that the support is there if anything goes weong is re-assuring.
