Channel info split over different transponders
I've got a bit of a problem with the Sky movie channels - some of the channels have 2 different channels attached to them - most of you will have experienced this ("Sky Premier" and "Sky Prem Hid" for example) where the EPG data is on one channel (along with "Enter PIN") and the actual audio/video is on the Hid channel.
Now, you're able to use Voxer to go into the "Hid" channel (via the Channel Manager, and picking its transponder) and change the ID attribute of the Hid channel to that of the EPG channel - you then end up with a proper channel, with audio, video and EPG all on the one channel (and can delete the old "Enter PIN" channel). All well and good.
The problem I have is, in my area they've just recently started putting the Hid channel and the PIN channel on different transponders (Sky Premier Hid is on TP13, for example, and the EPG/PIN channel is on TP33). When this happens, just changing the ID number doesn't work, and in fact, you usually end up with a completely blank channel if you attempt that. This leaves you with the messy situation where, for each channel, you have to have the video channel and also the EPG channel in the channel list.
Does anyone know how to "merge" the channel information taken from two different transponders? Does anyone know exactly what each attribute for the channel corresponds to (The ID, PCR, PMT, VID etc - I know ID is to do with the EPG)? Do you think this is a new ploy by V!rgin Media to disrupt the operation of the boxes (imagine having every single channel in your list twice - one for the actual channel, and another for the EPG)?
