Wireless Info Please

Hi excuse my naivity but i currently have talk talk broadband through an ADSL router hard wired to a usb port, i would like to have a wireless system for my laptop,two queries!

1 what equipment do i need to change to "wireless"

2 how do i "connect" it to my computer

Can you please tell me the make and model of the router, then we can go through setup " encryption settings, name, password 64 bit encryption (lowest and fastest) is good. It stops 'drive by' hookups, and keeps local connectors off your connection

ok my modem is a bog standard talk talk Sagem model

Hi Dave no probs, is this your modem in the pic ? if it is sorry hun its not Wi-Fi "not wireless" for a Laptop you will need a different Router so you can connect your PC and Laptop at the same time (if your modem is not the same is it in the Link "click on (Click Here) below

Hi Annabell, thanks for responding, at the moment your the only one that wants to talk to me, my modem is the same as the talktalk one you have pictured, i,m going away for a week from midday today so if you don,t get a reply i,ll pick up the thread when i get back on the 8th of July,

excellent week away thanks, i would like to go for a wireless router, talking to some friends we met on hols was informative, apparently i need a router and a "dongle" what ever that is, i,m afraid my memory on the rest of the info is not good and was also clouded by copious amount of red vino!!
so your help still required my friend,

I have a question for you or two -

1. do you want to keep your cable connection for your PC ? and i know it has USB but has it Ethernet ? or do you want the PC to be wireless ?

2. you want to connect your laptop via wireless connection ?

3 can you post make & model No of your PC and Laptop please ?
