Default Broadband connecting 2 pc's

I use Virgin Media broadband. I would like to have two pc's hooked up at the same time. Been told to use a "router", does anyone have any recommendations?

A wireless router should do the trick - got one set up for two here and laptop and it's usually a doddle.

If you're looking for brand names check out anything by Belkin - aside from having a good reputation on the technology, they also have excellent customer service - free phone support, if I remember right, whereas BT charge premium rate for support on their routers if you're not careful.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for that. Is wireless better than hard wired?

You can hard wire most wireless routers - it's always handy to have the wireless option available even if you don't use it, just make sure you setup some security on the wireless to keep others off your internet connection.

Make sure you get a router for cable internet and NOT for ADSL.

I may have a used D-Link wireless router available, if you're interested drop me a PM

Hi gon_damar

Belkin, Netgear, Linksys, D-Link all make good Routers and when you do decide which you want when setting up do change the Routers name and your password, if the Router has wireless and your not using it disable it and do remember to enable the hardware Firewall as some Routers Firewalls are not on by default.

I have been looking at some sales figures of Routers in the UK and Belkin, D-Link and Linksys are doing quite well and wireless technology is defiantly in the for front of consumer needs today
