Default hissing noise, no sound..red eurovox

Hello, as soon as i turn on my eurovox red, i get a funny sound noise, but no sound from the tv channel, all i get is a hissing noise. I believe you would get this kind of sounds when say two cables r touching wen they shouldnt etc.

Has anyone had similar problem, or can anyone advise what i can check for when i open the box.

Cheers!

Default Re: hissing noise, no sound..red eurovox

further update. Opened the box, and it seems the audio chip is faulty. While its on and wen i start playing around with it sound comes and goes wen i stop.

The audio chip its a small square chip behind scart sockets marked AKM ABOUT 7MM SQUARE.

Now wats the situation according you all, box is dead and leave for someone deaf or still alive and just needs a kick in a right direction.

Any advice.
