Tiscali won't upgrade me ...

I've been a Tiscali user for over a year. At the time I could only get 2mbit broadband. and pay £17.99 or something.

Now the exchanges have been upgraded to allow 8mbit connections.

As Tiscali offer the 8mbit for the same price I'm paying now, I asked them to upgrade me to the higher speed. Problem is they say I can't get it in my area, which is a load of tosh - because My neighbours have it - and all the BT line checkers etc reveal my line is good for it.

Any advice?

Dump Tiscali i would ! since last feb 14th mac codes have to be provided upon request from users to there ISPs.
MAC code, (Migration Authorisation Code) is a code like a serial number that identifies your broadband connection in a telephone exchange, this is the only thing you need to move to anouther ISP, so have a look around on the net and if you see a good deal ring Tiscali and tell them you want your mac code "they have to provide it", good luck hun

Ironically, the day I posted this thread- Tiscali phoned me up regarding if i'm happy with the service.. bizarre. I said I'd like to have 8mbit like the other users paying the same price, and they said they'd do it!

LoL well thats good news svenviking, maybe you could tell them you was just about to ask for your Mac code !, maybe get a price reduction ?
