Subbed box questions

A friends mum has just left N*L. She mentioned her pace box to them and what to do with it and they told her they didn't want it and to throw it away.

Am i alright to mess about with this box and convert it to the dark side?

Why do you recommend not touching your subbed box and card, is it just that if N*L do ever come to look at a geniune fault you won,t have a geniune box to show them?

Or is it another reason?

You don't mess with a subbed box if it is still subscribed...but if the subscription has ended and they have left you with the stb you can do what you like with it.

Yes if its a 4001 the lid makes a nice cheese graiter. As long as the talkbacks cut , they wont know !
