Default eurovox help please !!

hi all im quite new here have posted in the newbi section and have a problem. can any one tell me the main problem with the eurovox main board as i have 2 that are dead i know for definate that its not a power supply fault as i have done some swapping and know its the main baord.

Also i have a 2007 box that started making a crackling sound and now there is a perfect picture and no sound although it creeps back for a few seconds every now and then if left on for a while.

would appreciate any help and would like to thank you all for doing a great job and hope i will be able to return the favor soon.

hmmmm, sorry to hear that mate but it sounds just exactly like the issue i had.

It seems you audio chip on the mainboard is buggered, this normally happens if you drop or hard pressure on the box.

Well i did what you shouldnt do, i opened the box, managed to find the module that was causing an issue. As soon as i touched it with a screw driver the sound would come for a while.

Eventually i think i short circuited it and the rest is history, smoke coming out the whole chip was burnt.

Mate, I would advise against posting your email details on an open forum ~ you just don't know who is popping in

there is a service registered on ebay to jtag your box. it resets your box and allows you to go back and use the old firmware instead of the newer one which killed all cloned boxes. im currently having the same problem. no power to the board.
