Pace Di4001-N stuck on tune

Hello

I have two Pace Di4001-N boxes. One works fine ( I modified myself) the other I had bought ages ago (modified by another person).

The one I modified works perfectly (thanks to Tee, Javed and Lincsat).

The other one, when I plug into power, it gets stuck on Tune (no card inserted). I did replace the simm inside with the P & P LED SIMM, then put the original simm back. (don't worry I made sure the simm was perfectly back in place).

Shouldn't I at least see the normal free channels ??

Ohh and I also tried pulling the red jumper out for 10 minutes.

No luck there either !!

Some posts said I had to wait for it. But how long ??? cause my other Di4001-N only takes 5 minutes Max.

By the way on the TV Screen it says:

[ Sorry to interrupt your viewing

We're currently updating your service, so please don'e switch off your ntl box.

This will only take a short time. ]

OK, for those of you that had this problem here is what I did.

Go to the kitchen and get yourself a cup of tea. put the radio on and enjoy the music for 20 minutes. After that:

The sorry to interrupt screen should be gone and the box should have updated and you should get the normal free channels.

Then put in your programmed FunCard and wait for another 4 to 5 minutes, then emmm enjoy Nat Geo Wild LOL (my favourite channel)

Hello

I have this PACE Di4001N. When I power it up, all I get on the LED Screen is [ PACE ]. It doesn't move onto [ tune ], just shows PACE.

I allready tried the red jumper move, but no luck. Stays on [ PACE ] again.

Any help would be appreciated.

have you tryed holding in the channel down button when booting up?

Thanks man. I tried that just now, but nothing !! again; stuck on [ PACE ]. I tried holding the up and down buttons also ( I should get the Engineer's menu ) but again nothing, just [ PACE ].

I would be very thankful for any other suggestions

ive read somewhere that its knackerd when it stays on pace, just leave it on and see if you get the platform error, im not sure which error number it is tho may err4 dont know, its a low one tho.

Thanks 5av. I think you're right, the box is nakkerd. When I opened the box for the P&P LED SIMM, I saw little rust particles on the steel bits of the box and it was so dusty inside.

would be dusty would not be worried about that, have you tryed holding in the standby button on boot up and see if you get 0000 or ----?
