Default How can I force an update?

Hi Guys, My 4000 box refuses to update - It flashs up downloading 8 updates but they just all fail and it never updates? I've still got the old blue NThell screens. Is there anyway I can force it to update? Or is there a way I can tell if it's had a no update mod done on it?

Cheers

Default Re: How can I force an update?

hi,

check this thread out in there Trafpol explains how to force update:

http://www.techwatch.co.uk/cable-tv-...lash-file.html

In particular, Trafpol says:

Quote:
Pull red jumper. Reconnect talkback.
I have created a new card with larger flash file that will force update and basically reflash the amtels in the box with the latest bytes. Pin and net id are changed with the eeprom file. The exteep file is written as normal with the exception that the latest keys are used (non auto update).
Boot box in engineers menu. Set freq to your area and save.Insert new card and box will reboot. As soon as it does turn off and reboot in e.menu again. Check net id has changed. reboot this time holding power button. Display will show ok then 0000. Press favourites, interactive,tv guide,tv to produce 4321. Press ok. This will force update. Let it run - you will see on tv it loading new bytes - this will take about 5 mins. Box will then reboot. When done go to any movie channel and press ok. Loading appears and then pin box. Enter pin and .....whoopee... . Now remember to recut the talkback. Insert normal auto update card and away you go. Red button works too. Check interactive doesnt work and everything is fine....
