Hi
I have an old HP 710 all in one which I use as a back up colour printer....not to mention I find inks quite easily. Anyway it prints fine. It is connected to com 1 via usb and no problems whatsoever. Port is running ECP so ok. However, I cant use copy or fax function. Each time I try I get "your computer can not communicate with your printer".....every time. Im wondering if the software is wrong..I downloaded it and it installed ok and gives me the copy, scan, fax buttons etc but no joy..... any ideas anyone?

Thanks Annabell but thats the same driver I mentioned. It says on installing that as I have software already installed I need to remove it in order to proced. So I go to add/removel programmes - hp officejet - and press uninstall. I get the mesage "unable to locate uninst.isu uninstall will not continue" so I try removing whole thing from hard drive folder and get "access denied make sure not in use or write protected". Any way of deleting this file as I need to before I can reinstall, Thanks

Hi Trafpol
I would uninstall the driver then install the new download as it may be the same but the first may be corrupt, To uninstall the driver Click >Start >Settings >Control Panel >System >Hardware >Device Manager in the window you will see a list of devices on your PC on the left of there names you will see a box with a +, the one next to the device that you wish to uninstall the drivers from click it and in the dropdown double click on the devices name and a window will open and with in that window you will see uninstall, but do make sure you have the next driver on your desktop and turn off any AV, spyware and Windows apps running all that should be on is your Firewall. Ann
