What firmware do I use with the new Black Boxes? - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I just recently got a few Black Boxes (Euromax V 2008s) and I'm not sure what firmware I should be putting on them? Do I use the Red Box firmware? Or the latest one labeled RedBox only in the download section (it sounds like this is the one I want from the recent thread about it here, but I'm not sure).

I can't find a firmware labeled Black-Box anywhere so I'm a bit lost.

any help is appreciated.

Firmware 02_07_07 is the one that comes with the Black box (there's no difference between this and the latest Red box firmware). An updated version is due out later this month.

I'm a bit confused. I don't think the guy I get them from puts any firmware on them for me, as usually when I get them they don't switch on and I just get ---- on the display, until I flash them then they work fine. Am I missing something?

No that's the way I get them also (no point in having them flashed for another area).
Your supplier should be able to mail you with the latese firmware, if not pm me with your email details and I'll forward it on to you.

I have a 2008 black box with firmware 28 june is that why it aint working??

Firmware 02_07_07 is available in the downloads section http://www.techwatch.co.uk/fta-downl...re-active.html
Click on the Cable TV link which brings you to the download page, you'll see the link for 02_07_07 file.

Edit: I didn't realise you were talking about the RED_BOX_ONLY one when you said 02_07_07, I did think it was this one alright, but thought I had better ask
