Default Connecting Euro-Vox Max Via Broadband

This is probably a dumb question but i am a noob and not up to speed on these things. I have read that the Euro-Vox Max can be connected to the pc via broadband (I am with V*rg*n cable) would my pc have to have a tv in card on board to allow this to work? I have the feeling this is a dumb question, but if ya don't ask then ya don't find out..... right?

Is there a idiots guide tutorial explaining what is needed and how this connection can be achieved anywhere?

Thanks in advance,

Dastardley

I actually want it connected to my TV as would be the usual means, but was curious when i read in another members post that they had used a splitter to allow the Eurovox to be connected from both their cable and broadband input I assumed that they meant using it toconnectdirectly onto their pc to enable them to watch the tv programs on the PC instead of the TV which i thought would be cool to do. Maybe i have picked this up wrong........Like i said in my original post iama newbie to this, and just finding my feet............Sorry if my question was too stupid to warrant a reply.

Or maybe youre right m8 and you can do this just never come across it before.

I have probably misinterpreted the post i read concerning the broadband connection....as you suggest ronster....I better read up more, and learn to walk before i can run with this Euro-Vox lark. It's kinda complicated to follow the gist of some of the posts for a newbie such as myself. I will be installing the Euro-Vox Max 2008 version on Saturday so i have fingers crossed that i get it up and running without too many problems. Thanks for your reply m8.

Dastardley.

your main cable feed into your house runs both tv and broadband connections, splitters are used mainly to keep original boxes live or to run extra feeds off it.
i have it split 3 ways , as i have dbox2 upstairs

Hello m8 you didn't say if you had your tv with V*rgin. I have my broadband set up in my dining room and my tv in my lounge. I have installed a splitter on the cable which supplies my broadband so that one cable goes into my ca ble modem another goes into dm600 attached to an lcd tv monitor. The cable that is in the lounge has a splitter on it and this supplies a stb upstairs and an eurovox box in the lounge.

Can someone please clarify this issue for me. I am a newbie i have V*rg*n cable with broadband, my cable access comes via the old N*L box and my broadband through the little N*L broadband connection box. Now tomorrow i am going to install my new Euro-Vox Max Black box 2008. I have read here how some people use splitters to connect from the N*L (now V*rg*n) cable outlet and how they also connect from the broadband outlet. Can someone please explain the benefits of connecting from the broadband outlet? Is this to enable the tv channels to be viewed direct from a PC? Like i said i am a novice and am just trying to work out why some people seem to use the broadband outlet to connect to or from the Euro-Vox Max.

I know when some members post their information they assume that everyone is clued up on the jargon and basics so leave what they consider the basics out of their posts and thats cool, i can understand that, but can someone clarify this whole broadband connecting thing for this newbie and maybe other newbies who are reading this thread?.....Thanks guys.
