Default Eurovox, D-Box or DreamBox?

Hello there. A newbie in the house and my first post so please be gentle with me - Just did my nails.

Like i mentioned above, am a newbie to all of these cable talk etc but lately i have been playing with the idea of getting a cable box but there appears to be plenty to chose from. After reading briefly around here and other forums, i have limited my choices to the aforementioned boxes. The question now is which one do i have to go for?

Eurovox - It appears to be the easiest of all if am correct. Just plug and play right? And when signals or frequency are changed, i would just do a rescan apparently. However how authentic is this, i really do not know.

Dream Box (500c) - It would have been the most obvious option to go for but i know nothing about programming. However, i do like one or two challenges myself. Anymore info on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

D-box - Appears to be an open source and hence there should be plenty of rooms for improvement or enhancement like the dream box.

Well that is all i can say for now. Would all those who know better please advise me. Thanks.

Eurovox 'plug and play' and very reliable. Does not do 16.9 ratio so if this important to you don't buy it. There are few clones about which were killed by the June s/w so make sure you don't buy a clone. There has been new 'black' brought out this month.

The dreambox are very nice machines and can be managed by connecting to your pc. Some people have had lots of problems setting up these dreamboxes and have been known to give up and buy something else. If you have reasonable pc skills than you should be fine with the dreambox. The DM500 have had some me low signal issues and may require boosters to boost the signal. The DM600 was brought out abot two months ago and is a very nice box with PVR capablities. It has a more powerful tuner compared to the DM500 but costs almost twice as much.

I do not have any experience with the dbox so cannot comment.
