Default Small picture using Eurovox Max

Hi,

Only bought the box yesterday so be gentle with me

Just would like to know if possible why on some channels (eurosport for example) I have a full screen picture when using the box and on others (BBC1 & 2 for example) I get a sort of "letterbox" effect with thick black lines at the top and bottom of the screen.

Can anything be done about this? I like as big a picture as possible

Oh dear. You aint one of those that likes to "stretch" 4:3 pictures to fullscreen are you?

Please don't say you are.

I am

Just don't understand how some channels can show the whole screen while others don't!

This smaller picture really bugs me, especially when I'm watching sport.

Some channels are broadcast to support full-screen mode ... others aren't

hmm just noticed they start off full screen when the channel is first selected then at the same time the program info goes off the picture sort of shrinks.

Ronster - if you have a second would you mind telling me if your settings are the same as these please?

TV MODE - MULTI
VIDEO OUTPUT - RGB
SCREEN MODE - FULL SCREEN
SPDIF OUTPUT - OFF
UHF MODE - PAL B/G
UHF CHANNEL - 40

*I have no idea what any of that stuff means though!!!

Thanks D3, no better though unfortunately

I have just changed the tv mode from multi to NTSC (whatever that is) it has made the picture fill the screen but has kind of "slowed" the picture down slightly so I hear the words before the person says them! Must be a way to sort this properly!

I appreciate all the suggestions so far.....

You don't want to touch NTSC!! ... that's the american broadcasting quality ... less lines ... you'll need to mess with the settings on your monitor to get your preferred setting.
