Segam DBOX 2. image flashing not working

Hi,
I have tried all possible solution for this segab dbox 2. I can connect it through FXP but cannot flsh an image through IFA.... Strange.
Checked ever single setting with the Network and serial cable. Ip address all other settings are right. i can ping it also can transfer files.
but there is no option of reading or writing the image in MENUE of this box. it has got sportster image 1.73uk05 . i can create the back up image but after that it doesnt got any option to read any part of the image . is there any file for the setting or for the mnue i can update and change the menue to flash the image. I can upload the new image toi the tmp folder bu then there is nothing to do on the box is there any thing from the computer i can do to flash that image....

I've just loaded a 2 year old Sportster 1.73UK01 - I would assume yours has similar menu's.

Press Dbox/service menu/Image update/Flash read write/write one partition/flash without bootloader - then select the image you put in the /tmp folder and confirm. 2 Minutes later, your new image is loaded

Some versions of this image you can flash from the blue button sportster menu, you need to call the image mtd3.img and transfer that into your /tmp folder, then press the blue button and follow the menu's there.

Thats is the Problem......!
When i press dbox button it says No channel found Execute a Scan for Service. the only option it gives is ok. if you will press ok the message goes of and the list of old channels comes none of the channels work not he freeview ones. the only menue comes with blue button. and gives sportster option and tuxcommander and weather options.
if i will choose sportstar option an other menue gives some system options like i can see the network ip but canot edit it. i have gone through twice through all the menue but image reading option is not available. There is something wrong with the image flashed on this box i think.
Is there any chance i can format it and reinstal the OS.
Or if i can send it to someone in post so they can have a look into this mistry box...

So pressing the dbox button brings up the channel list like you would expect when pressing the OK button - what do you get when pressing the OK button?

IFA is used to format and re-install the OS

it gives the channel list when i press the Ok button and pressing the Ok button again brings up a box to type some kind of commands. like tuxcommander. pressing Dbox button just gives error message to scan for services.
IFA is not working the boot manager says it has failed connecting to the box . box is connected properly and i can ping it i can also connect it through FXP . IFA isnt working i have waited for 10 minutes but notthing happens i can see that it has failed connecting.!

Sounds like you have changed the key mapping. You can see the Sportster menu, can't you flash it with that - what about through Y-web

what is Y-web ? i can seee the sportster Menue. If i will send you the box will you do it for me i will pay the postage cost from your side as wel. If you have time. This Box is realy Expensive and from Germeny i dont want to through it.

Y-Web is the http interface, you access it with your web browser. If the box IP address is 192.168.200.124 you type http://192.168.200.124 From there it depends on the version of Y-Web installed, in my current version, you click on tools and image.

The other way from the sportster menu there should be an option to update image, you can use that to flash the image but the flash must be named mtd3.img before you FTP it to the /tmp folder.

IIRC one of the bouquet editing applications will also flash an image, but can't remember which one.

I suppose I could flash it for you if you're really stuck - you'll need to PM me if everything else fails.

i have not tried y web but i have also tried uploading mtd3.img . i can upload it into temp but after that menue on the box have not got an option to read or update it. it has got only one option to Creat a backup of the image no other option att all. looked in to all submenues but no luck. i will try y web tomorow. what is IIRC ? if that is a software can i have it so i can try it . i just need one option in the menue to read the image. which isnot there. thats all ineed.
