Default New sort of Broadband

Just signed up for a 3 Month Trial of Advanced Broadband from AB Internet Ltd brings you Advanced Broadband throughout Lincolnshire.

Basically, the service is 2 Meg symmetrical, ie 2meg down and 2 meg up and is delivered wirelessly - I have an antenna like a BSB Squarial. The installer setup a 3.5meg SDSL config to let me have a quick play

In the next few days I'll take a photo of the antenna and see if I can post it

No extra equipment to buy, comes with a 2 port router including VOIP connections and free phone calls and an Incoming number too. Here's a couple of photo's of the Antenna

Sound pefect for my caravan on the coast but when I put my post code in it says I am eligable for a subsidised rate of £49 per month.
Too rich for me at the moment at that price.

Yes it's symmetrical, 2meg each way. I'm not fully live yet, still waiting on my IP addresses from BT - I get 8 static

I'm only using this while it's free - 3 Month free trial

I'm moving my ADSL to ADSL24 during the trial, going for their OfficeMax 5 product. I do still have an NTL/VM cable connection here too. I like plenty of access

The indoor unit for the Antenna looks like a laptop PSU. It has 2 Ethernet connections, one to connect to the antenna to supply power and carry the signal back and the second to connect to the Router. You could actually just plug a PC into the 2nd port instead of a router. You need to manually setup the IP address as the indoor unit does not contain a DHCP server.

The current un-subsidised price for this is £250 per Month - so I don't imaging many people will get it at home - it's a business product and I've atrted noticing quite a few Antennae around new industrial parks
