Default Newbie needing some basic advice.

I am new to these boxes and after reading a lot of threads on this forum, not as technically "savvy" as most. I'm basically looking to have a few questions answered before I buy either a DBox or Eurovox.

1. Whick one is better? i.e. user-friendly, ease of use, reliability.

2. How often do they need updating, and when they do, how easy is the process?

3. Does it cost anything to up-date the box?

4. Is there a box available with a hard drive for recording like a sky+ box?

I should mention, although I dont know if it makes a difference, that I live in Dublin, Ireland.

Thanks in advance

I've read that thread previously and am still none the wiser. It uses a lot of terms I've never heard of and dont understand. "null-modem, IFA, 2x image, image, FXP, Sportster, FTP, commando, crossover Ethernet, HTPC" are all terms I dont know anything about except for one "Sportster", and I'm betting it's not a reference to my motorbike! I'm even less experienced that the original poster. Also, it doesn't tell me anything about up-dating. Do I have to pay each time? How frequent is up-dating? And how does auto-update work if the box isn't connected to the internet?

I've already read that thread and I'm still none the wiser. I cant understand most the termonology used and it doesn't really explain my questions on up-grading. Guys, I'm not kidding, I'm as fresh as they come!!
