Hi ppl,
I'm using Vista Ultimate, and getting a weird problem with the recycle bin. Whenever i delete a file, it deletes the file, however when i open the recycle bin it doesn't display any files that have been deleted. anyone got any ideas as to what's going on? |

do you have "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin" checked under the recycle bin properties ??
Right click on the recycle bin then go to properties/general |

hi,
i checked the properties and the option of deleting files immediately without moving the files to the bin is unchecked and i have checked the option to display delete confirmation box as well. thanks for the research done so far, i tried google but didn't find anything relative. any more ideas? cheers. |

Mrwizard
Your Recycle Bin may be corrupted, so you can rebuild it quite easly open Explorer. Press the 'Alt' key for 5 seconds, this will display the File Edit View Tools menu from the Tools menu, select View click the radio button next to "Show hidden files and folders" in Windows Explorer, view your C: drive locate a file in the root called Recycle.bin delete this file click 'Yes' to the warning, a new Recycle.bin file will be created and any corruption will be cured, this may solve your problem.
