Default Help with connection questions with eurovox

Hey everyone
Sorry i am new to using eurovox type products.
I am thinking about buying a eurovox max v 2008 from ebay preflashed with future updates as needed.
It comes with an R232 cable and all the other necessities.

The only things bothering me are:
1) splitters. how are they connected? etc.
2) how to connect my eurovox up

Im with virgin media guys, i have an oldish silver ntl box though.

Thanks alot in advance!

EDIT: Also where can I get new firmwares for my eurovox? Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place!

Hi,

Remove cable from back of ntl box, fit spliter, connect 2 cables from spliter - 1 to ntlbox and 1 to eurobox - obtainable from most general diy shops
Fit scart lead ( usually not supplied ) from top connection on eurobox to tv ( may require scart splitter ) - happy viewing

Firmware / Software - Send me your e-mail address and I will send you all you need

Thanks alot for the reply.

By ntl box, you mean the white box on the wall where the coax cable connects to your normal set top box?

And another stupid question is would i need my ntlbox connected to the scart socket on my tv aswell as my eurovox connected to the scart socket on my tv, hence needing a scart splitter, so ntl wouldn't pick up that my box was on but not in use?

And my email address is: norulezapply[at]gmail.com

Thanks alot man, that helped me out alot!

Its the cable from the back of your NThell set top box - thats the end of your live feed, so split it in two - one to your old box and one to your vox.

Don't need to feed both boxes in to your TV - I think having the NT box feeding is enough (you may just like to watch CBebbies all the time )-in fact I am pretty sure you don't need it on at all (haven't had mine hooked up since the early days of VM) - but I suppose its belt and braces to keep the old box live.

Cheers Rick

Hi,
As above, no need to connet NTL box to tv unless you still want to use on-demand etc.
Just split signal to both boxes, turn ntl box to standby, that will allow talkback.

One more thing.. I heard rumors that you can pause and play TV using eurovox's just like a sky+ box, is this true?

Cheers

Okay.
Sorry i know i'm getting annoying now heh, but this is gonna be my last question.

Okay so i used to have the old cable boxes in a few other rooms in the house, so ntl came and installed more white boxes in each room to feed the tvs/set top boxes and broadband. However i had this changed so it was just one tv/set top box and broadband, so a couple of the white boxes feeding the old set top boxes are not used. So i was wondering, could i install my eurovox onto one of those boxes and still get a feed without ntl knowing?

Thanks again =D

run a lead from one of the white boxes on the wall and plug the other end into a tvif you get the free channels the feed is live so u wil be ok.

Hi folks. Just for curiositys sake, how does the future proofing on the new Eurovox V 2008 work? Is it genuine?
