Default Nintendo Wiis moddable

For those that have Wiis and didn't know. You can mod them. This allows you to play game backups.

I modded my own Wii in February and it's been working perfectly ever since. There are lots of chips on the market, I'd recommend either the Wiinja Deluxe or the WiiFree chip, the WiiFree is cheaper and you can download and program your own chip if you have the time.

Otherwise the Wiinja Deluxe is a comercial chip and therefore costs a little more, you can get it for under £20 delivered. There are other chips, eg, the WiiKey, Cyclowiz, Wiid... (and more) but they are all very similar to each other. The reason I say go for the Wiinja Deluxe is that it's a little cheaper and has better compatibility with Gamecube games, other than that though, pretty much any chip wil do you fine.

Let me know if anyone wants more details.

I got the Wiinja deluxe as well and found that most PAL games work fine but actually finding the games is the hard part - any recommendations on where to look?

US and Japan are both NTSC (NTSC/U and NTSC/J).
Some NTSC titles can be patched to play on a PAL console (and vice versa) but be careful not to allow a game from the incorrect region to update your console.

I went into my wiikey config setting disc 1.3 and i could see region override was turned off, so I turned it on saved settings thinking this should do it, but i go to play the game same thing happens it loads game in menu but just goes to black screen if u try to run it. I went back to the wiikey set up disc and saw region override code was off again, but i heard this i supposed to be normal as it like stealth mode or summit? I did however play big brain adcamdy pal version on my jap and it tried to update the console but i dont think it done anything as i was update to lastest version anyway plus when i go to wii settings it still says version 3.1J. Only game i been able to play so far is my sims jap version, games that wouldnt load are pal big brain and pal g1 jockey.
