Hi all - great site - first post...
Ordered a Eurovox max 2008 a day or so ago and am planning the installation.. I only have Broadband from Virgin (NTL). Cable comes in and goes into a box by computer (what does that box 'do'?). A cable comes out of that and goes into the modem. (This box has another output - labelled 'FM'.) To use the Eurovox I understand I have to split the signal. Do I split the cable before the afformentioned box (i.e. the white co-ax(?) cable as it comes into the house - near the TV as it happens..) or split the cable that comes out of it. Then one goes to the modem and the other to the Eurovox.. Or does it not matter? Cheers all... |

To be honest it just looks like a splitter..
Had a look - it's a TV/FM Isolator. The left pin is labelled FM and the right one (that goes to the modem) is labelled TV. Broadband has been in for years..............(never had TV package..) |

Cheers.
When you say it reduces the signal so people get the same strength, what do you mean? And you're saying to simply replace that with a splitter and send one to PC and other to Eurovox yes? (I've bought a Konig 5-2400MHz splitter). Besides Eurovox then, I assume the cable could have just gone into the modem itself? On a BB only service, what does the isolator box do? This is the box: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/altisuk/fm/isolator.jpg (edited img tags out incase 'they're' looking where page is loading from..) Thanks again!

Thanks again.
![]() Following on from that then, does that mean it doesn't matter where the splitter goes? i.e. the cable comes in the house not too far from the TV and goes to the PC. If I put the splitter there I then need to run the cable all the way back again. Or is better not to have needed to actually cut the cable NTL have installed...............

if it was me i'd leave the white cable if you cut that you'll have to put on your own screw conector then more chance youl get a bad conection if you do it that way you'll need to use more conectors
