Smile Different UBR's?

Hi,i'm living in Dublin at the moment and I did a whois search in two locations (my house and my mates house) about two miles from each other .These are the results

089-100-0201xx.ntlworld.ie
089-100-0411xx.ntlworld.ie

Can anyone tell me if they're in two different UBR's?

Hi Dean,

In Dublin also on N*L cable.

After having today bought a cable box for tv N*L, was just reading about the same available for broadband.

I can't really help on your query,although I did read that the result should start with your own/mates IP address - at least according to the other posters.

Would be interested on swapping a MAC swap to get us the freebie service.

let me know anyways. cheers

checked my IP, got similar results as you. the first six #s the same, the next five seem different

In our case, how can we tell if in different UBR's?

need an expert to enlighten us I think.

can you advise how you found a modded modem on Ebay. did a quick search and only got genuine boxes (keywords cable+modem) - am i a bit thick?

I think we are in different UBR's plus ntl here are a shambles so ya never know ya might get away with it and for cable modems search for "ntl 250" the only thing is you'll have to hack it yourself which requires buying a max232 and it gets a bit complicated.As far as i know Lincsats nick nack shop,which is stickied on this forum,sells hacked modems for 20 sterling all ya need to do is use boltars ntl configurator to enter your settings (macs etc.) and you're good to go.
