@ roco good luck
@ forest you say when you reset the bottom bar in loader fills up normally the top bar in loader fills up first then the bottom bar. sometimes when you reset you can get this usualy when you fumble the reset { turn power back off/on } try loading again. |

Starting to wonder if the firmware on your box (TSOP) is slightly corrupted and causing the prob for you. Another option to consider would perhaps be to jtag your box - its a path I hesitate to suggest but you seem to have tried every other avenue.

when im updating mine, system reset pops up for one second an then sticks on sending 0%. If I pull the power out and then put it in straight away it switches to writing and the bottom bar fills up. The top bar stays completely empty, which i'm presuming isnt right. Once the bottom bar is full after 90 seconds I get "downloading is failed.." which doesnt change no matter how long you leave it for. I've tried this repeatedly and its exactly the same each time, and the scart and aerial are unplugged.
I'm stuck. I dont know what 'jtag' ing the box is but if it really dangers wrecking the box I'd rather put the codes in manually. If someone knows a solution to say i'd grateful is an understatement. |

ive done hundreds of updates and have always left the cable and scart connected and have never had any problems but they have always been on genuine boxes. jtaging is normally only required when the box is dead normally caused by gen sw being installed on a clone box.so if your box is working on older sw jtagging is not the answer. |

Your problem is purely to do with the USB dongle you are using with Vista, if the TSOP was corrupt you would have more than a download only problem. As you said you are trying it direct from a serial port with just the null modem cable it should work.
Do a factory reset before and after flash and you can leave it connected to the TV. |

Hooray! Managed to get it to work.
The problem is the usb adapter. I borrowed an old laptop with windows 98 and a serial port from work plugged it in and it worked first time. Thanks for the help guys! And there you go Roco there's your answer! |
