The first CDs rolled off the presses in Germany in 1982 and went on to revolutionise entertainment.

The very first published CD was...
Billy Joel’s 52nd Street, Contradicting many news storys released today and infact Wikipedia all stating ABBA's The Visitors as the first CD.

Indeed it was ABBA and Polygrams first Pop CD release but Billy's CD made it to the shops first in Japan along with 49 other CD releases.
