Dreambox 500C no channels/transponders? - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I have recently flashed my Dreambox 500C as I messed up the box when trying to install a plugin.

However now when I go the automatic scanning menu it picks up 2 numbers to scan from. It dosen't pick up any channels from either.

I used to have another image on there and that brought up an NTL transponder, and picked up lots of channels.

Any ideas? Tried a few different images and it's the same each time.

Don't you have a backup of your old image? If you're NTL you need to scan 6887 - that's your SR (symbol rate).

No I don't, if I remember right it was an Enigma image...

Surely the images shouldn't make a difference though? Like I said i've tried a few different ones and they each give me the same 2 numbers, none of which are 6887...

SR6900 and SR6875.

Well in the UK we use 6952 and 6887, so my best guess is you're using an image which is not properly UK modified.

Try the DW image in the downloads.

I've only ever had a dreambox for a few days to test, didn't think the picture was anywhere near as good as the D-Box.

I tried 2 images, one was the DW image, the other name I can't remember, I've named it db500-image and am uploading it to the FTA downloads site - It's a fully working backup of the image that was on the box.

Give them both a try and see how you get on.

Managed to get channels with the DW image, it's a bit ugly though.

Oddly it brought up no channels found when I selected the 6887 option, but it picked them up when I selected BruteForce UK.

Back that up and try the other image in DB500-image.rar IIRC, it's a better looking interface
