Default eurovox problems since firmware upgrade

Hi All,

I am new to forums and not quite sure of the etiquette, but I have serious problems with my 2 eurovox units (1 is a silver eurovox 2 and the other is a blue boxed eurovox max). Any advice i can give to anyone i gladly will but I'm more in a position to receive help rather than give it!

I used the cd that came with the box and upgraded due to the following problems:
a) eurovox 2 has a paltry EPG
b) eurovox max (blue) kept resetting at 8am, went blank for about 3 minutes restarted at a time of 12 noon and resets many settings to default - this happens every day and is extremely annoying.

Since the upgrades both now behave the same, (as per the blue boxes original problem) i did use the correct upgrade per box and they are watchable - all channels still available, but the behaviour of the box is wrong and really frustrating. Additionally, they both lose the signal to the TV infrequently, but do not go into standby, a few seconds later it comes back on. (all connections are sound)

I have read the solutions are on a gmail drive?? what and where is this drive? I am always looking to improve and share my knowledge, so ANY advice is greatly appreciated.

I hope to read your responses soon

Thanks in advance

Ashdec

Sounds like you need a code upgrade.
The boxes don't typically come with a CD and I guess the chances are that the code you are using is susceptible to ECM.
The fact that one box gets knocked off every day at the same time would suggest that.
I'm not an expert but as to access to the GMail drive, details of how to get onto it are also on this website...

It may also be possible that you bought a non genuine box IE A clone.

The latest firmware is not clone friendly.
Where did you buy it?

i got it from a reputable guy on ebay, really helpful. relatives of mine (and friends at work)have had them from him too and work perfectly. Its since my firmware upgrade that i've stated getting hacked off. I will check how to access the drive, but as its a code i need as you suggest - will this help?

Can i roll back the firmware to a previous version?

thanks

Will use the information in this thread to update my Eurovox box when I receive it next week.

Thanks to all concerned.
