General question re 2nd Box - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I've got 2 Telewest connections in my house and would like to get a second box to use on the one upstairs. Just wonderred if anyone could give me some guidance on what I need. Rootsman has kindly provided a list of Telewest conpatible boxes but I'm not sure if the the box I need has to have a card or if/how to reconfigure it if it is locked.

Apologies if this info is elswhere but I have been looking through the threads and am a bit confused as I am a total novice.

Have already bought one NTL box that I cant use so I'm trying to avoid ending up with a collection of them !

well im afraid to say its just a repeat of what you should have done in the first place, get a box that you know works in your area, get the bb + ird numbers either by reading the paired card or if your lucky the jtag or p+p led simm method, good luck what ever way you have to go

thanks, what are the bb + ird no? Are they the codes I need to get it working?

He mean't BK + IRD, what model is the box mate? you need to obtain the IRD + BK to get the box working, read the Novice Guide (?) in the download section, it explains the basics..

sorry.... to answer your question, I havent got a telewest box yet but do have an ntl PACE DI400 1NC

Jimmy, i cant remeber if that model works in the tw area, but if it does you need a P & P Led Sim to obtain the IRD + BK,

If you look under the Cable Section in the main Index Page, you will See FTA Downloads (that is the download section)
