Default Should i re-connect NTL box? (talk-back)

I have read about the talk-back feature on ntl boxes, and now I have just fitted the eurovox and removed the NTL box. Is this risky as i assume this will show that i have disconected at their end?

You should keep the set top box connected via a splitter ...these boxes definitely have a "return path" to the ISP,apart from that the box needs to be able to update, you dont have to of course but why invite trouble? for the sake of installing a splitter ....

Hi There,

what about if one doesn't have a subscription (and therefore never had an vendor box in the first place), but decided to install a DBox2 or a Eurovox 2008 box as a first box?

I thought there's no talk-back on these boxes?

Ta!

They definitely have talk back, its used for Teleport and other things ....if you choose to install on a redundant line so to speak there is always the chance it might be disconnected by the ISP in the event they run short of lines in your area so its a chance you take Im afraid I think a minimum TV subscription is a small price to pay for what you get via the Eurovox

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

I thought the Eurovox and DBox2 have a by-pass chip which talks-back, but states it's on stand-by?

Anyway, you're absolutely right, I'll take out a package with my vendor, me thinks that's fair, and we don't want head back to the same era as ONdigital etc...

Cheers...
