By the way, anyone still confused about the Null modem cable ( and there are a few) just buy a USB serial converter from Maplin install the software that comes with it, change one of your USB ports in device manager to COM 2 so you can just use any USB port on your PC.

Did you update the PVR firmware also, I presume it's the ex5000 you are referring to, remember it needs to be version 1.1a firmware, but you only need to update the k*y for this roll.

I didn't update the PVR so not sure of the model etc, my mate has both but the codes only worked for the Black MAX V. You could be right about firmware for the ex5000, be sure it's the right firmware or the thing may get the smell off BIN of from it
