Default wifi advice

Hi
I have a linksys cable router - ntl that is a "b" standard. I have been given a 20 meg broadband deal, which gives me about 5 meg wireless and around 15 meg using ethernet cable. I probably need to upgrade the router as someone said i now require at least a g standard. could this solve the problem?

cheers
Nick

5-7 meg is about the limit for wireless b, wireless g is certainly faster but not as stable as wired. If you are only using wireless and want the higher speed, then you do need a different router.

I recently changed from wired to wireless and the lack of speed is a pain. Seriously thinking of going back to a wired router.

I went back to wired for the same reason!!!

Wireless just made using the internet a chore so I got it wired professionally by a mate or mine whos a computer tech and now it works like a dream

I still recon the little computer kid that lives next door to me was packet sniffing my connection
