Default Changing hot tap washer

Recently had a Combi/condenser boiler fitted replacing the old type with storage cylinder etc, what I need to know is how do I stop the water flowing to the hot tap so that I can change the washer only way I can see is shut off the stop tap inside the house near the sink is this correct?,no other shut off valves anywhere ....
