Hi All,
I have been reading through some of your posts, interesting to say the least.
Q. I have a basic ntl package with 2meg bradbad, the daughter is nagging me to upgrade the braodband which I am refusing to do as she is never off the thing as it is. In her attempt to convinse me she says she will spend less time if download speed is better - not a bad try I thoght.
Any way I see from some of the posts you can hack your modem to gain up to 20 meg broadband, is this true and if it is can any of you nice peeps assist me in doing this.

yes you can mod a modem and there's loads on the subject in the forum or use the search i am sure you'll find what you're looking for

It's not a good idea to modify your subscribed modem - there's a good chance of getting caught.

Yes it can mate, is it a 250 model? (have a look underneath box)

You need to open the case connect an RS232 interface and load the patched firmware - there are tutorials in the downloads section.

i have a 250 n*l blue cable modem i want to upgrade..but i would greatly appreciate any help you can give me..ive looked through the forums but i guess i cant get any access to any downloads at the moment.until then could anyone give me any information i will need to know or direct me to a thread that can help me ...thanks everyone nice forum

First rule is this:
If its a subscribed modem ie one you pay for monthly then you DO NOT TOUCH it ,it will show on the system at the headend if you uncap/mod the modem,
If you wish to mod a second modem then take a look at some of the guides available as to what to do,
