Default Supplier Taking the P*ss

As some of you may remember I was having trouble with my brand new Eurovox V Max 2008, initially not recieving any transponders but after a while recieving fifty transponders all broadcasting the same three channels. After a lot of help from Techwatch members and a new cdf file for my area I still had no luck.

I then decided to email my supplier and take them up on their offer of excellent after sale support to recieve my Guaranteed channels. I sent off an email and waited a week without answer, I sent another one to no avail so I sent a further one threatening to leave him bad feedback (yes I was stupid enough to buy off fleabay, didn't know where else to get one) this provoked a response. In the return email I was told that the first two emails were not recieved and I must not know how to send an email, considering I am a ICT technician I am pretty sure I know how to send an email. I was left with a mobile number to contact the customer support department.

I phoned the number and was asked if I had done a full powerscan, of course I said yes and was told that I had broke the box myself by doing so, anything other than a normal powerscan is apparently dangerous. I told him that wasn't the case and it was quite safe to perform a full powerscan, he then became very rude toward me.

Trying very hard not to lose my temper I asked about the twelve month warantee, he told me to email him and he would email me a returns form, he then hung up on me. I filled out the returns form which stated that I would recieve a replacement by return post only if everything was sent back, to be sure I even sent back the supplied batteries unopened, I had to pay for returning the box out of my own pocket.

Two days later I recieved an email stating that they had recieved my faulty box and were sending out a replacement on next day delivery, a week later it was obvious it was not coming. I emailed the supplier three times only to recieve no reply, after emailing a fourth time and threatening to leave bad feedback again I was told that I should check that payment had cleared and that my pre-order date had passed.

I was obvious that they didn't have a clue what they were talking about so I emailed them all trrhe details of the purchase and offer of replacement, I received a reply stating that they were out of boxes and were awaiting a delivery expected for the day after, they would then ship one out on next day delivery for me.

Another week later and still no box, not even wanting to mess with unanswered emails I threatened them with bad feedback straight away and recieved an answer within minutes stating that they wewre looking at my case and will be back in touch within the next few hours.

A day and a half later they finally got back in touch. They told me that I was being too impatient and that they have had to send my box back to the manufacturers for repair. The manufacturers have deemed it irrepairable and so they will send me a replacement when they recieve their next shipment. There is no information as to when this may be other than they will send me an email closer to the time.

You may have by now came to the same conclusion as me, that I have been ripped off. I'm sure I will never see a working box from these people despite the great feedback they seem to get from their few thousand other customers. The funny thing is that at the end of every email they finish with "I am sure you can appreciate the lengths we go to, to provide you with excellent customer support" like I am supposed to be greatful for being treated so shabbily.

I am sorry for such a long post but I felt like I should specify everything so that I didn't look like I was complaing unneccesarily. I am unsure about the forum rules about naming bad companies so I will not do so yet but I wouldn't like someone else to get ripped off in this way. If somebody says it is ok to name them in this post, I will do so. Until then, if you want to ensure you don't buy off this person PM me and I will reviel their identity privately.

They don't just sell via fleabay as they have a website too. They insist on trying to sell me something else from it in every email they send to me, obviously wanting some more of my money for nothing in return.

Why dont you name and shame them on the forum. Also give us the email address.
If their providing a support service where being damn right rude then there not obivously good enough to be working with.

I'm not usually for naming and shaming as sometimes mis-understandings happen - however, if this is the company I think it is, then go ahead.

I've mentioned on another post about a misleading ebay advert, it's claimed that the brand new 2008 Eurovox released in July 2007 has been working and auto-updating flawlessly for 18 Months!

I do know of someone else with a similar box that was promised 100% satisfaction, money back guarantees and exceptional support - they brought it to me to update when the exceptional support person told them to F-off and sort it himself.

I was having doubts about naming this supplier despite the problems I am having with them, that was until I checked fleabay a couple of minutes ago. Their excuse for not replacing my dodgy box is that they are waiting for more boxes from their supplier but they have over ninety boxes for sale right now on fleabay. I will be opening a dispute through pay pal over this and I am extremely angry with this company.

Lincsat, I don't know if this is the same company that you have mentioned but they trade on fleabay under the name easyride123 and operate a website located at Sky Wonder

Not all of Ebay sellers are untrustworthy of course, just the odd one or two,but what we are never going to be sure about is the after sales service,as always promised, because we never have cause to use it unless something goes wrong...and in this case its sadly lacking Im afraid so they definitely need naming and shaming...just hoping this sad case comes to a satisfactory conclusion I can well imagine how distressing this must be for Trog best of luck to you,and hope it all works out for the best

Thanks for the support guys, after nearly a week of silence I recieved an email this morning saying that my replacement box will be sent out on Wednesday. I'm hoping this is the case but as I said in my earlier post, I have had promises such as this from them before. If it turns up I will let you guys know, we will know then that it is just a case of terrible after sales support and not the complete rip off that I began to suspect.

Good on you mate for naming and shaming! It allows other members of the community here to access the customer relations you have received from these people. I am sure many will think twice about doing any business with a seller showing that kind of attitude to a customer.....easyride123 ?? At least they are well named......Taking customers for an "easyride" seems to be what these people are about! Hope everything works out well for you and you receive your replacement ok mate...Good luck!

Just a quick update. I was told that my new box would be sent out on next day delivery on Wednesday, waited in all Thursday and got nothing. Today (Friday) it finally turned up 42 days after I originally paid for the box, plugged it in and did a scan and boom millions (well hundreds) of channels with only a few missing. I can now finally experience what you guys do and I love it. This supplier didn't rip me off like I thought they were going to but their customer service was shocking and I won't be buying from them again.

Now I'm off to find BBC 3 and watch Sky Sports until my eyes go square.
