Setanta Sports - Ireland - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hey hey all!

This is my 1st post and I would like to start by thanking you all, this is a great forum!! I've been reading this forum for about a month, doing some research before I took the chance and invested in a Eurovox Max (which is great).

Very few minor problems when installing, but a quick look(and search) on this forum and all the head scratching was over

anyways...back to my question! Is there anyway to get Setanta Sports Ireland(the channel broadcast in Ireland). I thought the Liverpool-Derby match was on at 3pm today, but been informed that its only on Setanta Ireland

and living in Belfast I get the virgin media feed.

I've had a look at steve07951's thread with the frequencies for Ireland, if I change these should it work and give me Setanta Ireland?
I have just tried this and got another setanta....but its got hurling on

Any help very much appreciated and keep up the great work!

I'm pretty sure that setanta Ireland is limited to the republic - It's down to rights issues

apparently there is a channel called "'Setanta Sports 1 Ireland" available in the south ...... any ideas if its available?

Realise gonna be way to late for todays game, but good to know for future

To be honest I think it's something to do with the cable feed. I'm living in Dublin and have NTL so my Eurovox is using that feed to obtain the channels including the Setanta Package. Perhaps because your box is connected to Virgin it's unable to decode Setanta Sports Ireland?

Not sure if that's it but it's as good a theory as I can come up with.

Setanta Ireland will only be available on cable feeds in the Republic due to rights issues - Saturday 3pm Premiership soccer is not allowed to be broadcast on ANY channel available anywhere in the UK including N. Ireland.

yeah I know about the laws blocking the 3pm games and guessed that about the feed, but just thought may have been a way to manually enter the details to find the channel.

No harm in asking eh? Back to watchin the Asian feed online to get 3pm games

Kopmagic - Do RTE show any games on Saturday afternoon any longer? Have a feeling due to Setanta package now RTE only have the premiership in the evening
