Linking Eurovox To Pc Via S-video Lead

Hi There Just Wondering If Ya Can Link Eurovox Via S-video Lead To Grafix Card And If So Doi I Need A Program?

Interesting question,not heard that one before,usual method of connecting to computer is via an RS232 lead ...

i have linked via null modem cable but would be nice if i could watch tv on my pc from box...

Hi,

I assume you want to record & edit programs on your PC. If so, and your graphics card has Video-in capability then you can get a cable (scart at the eurovox end, and s-video and L/R audio out on the other side to go into your PC).

i used to do this using my VHS and Freeview boxes via their scart outputs...

Don't forget you need the software and drivers to get your PC to "see" the input.

cheers Libero, u know i didn't even realise that s-video on grafix card is output and would need input and i would be hard pushed to find drivers as im using vista. Do ya know if its poss to add a scart socket to pc via pci, as this could be a cheaper option?

Hi there,

I don't know about Scart add-ons via PCI, but who knows eh, it could well exist!

Your s-video "port" on your graphics card might also have video-capabilities (check if your card is VIVO - or what model is it?).

Otherwise, you could get a capture card that handles video-in, and these things are cheap now!

Hi there,
my graphics card is 256 nvidia Extreme n6600gt. I looked on the box and cant see 'vivo'. Will look into a capture card though. thanks for ya help chief
