Default Mac and UBR areas

Hi im currently in watford on cpc1-watf5-0-0-cust** and looking for other suitable areas to exchange macs but im unsure of the surrounding ubrs, also i have seen some from aylesbury such as

cpc1-ayle2-0-0-*******.watf.cable.ntl.com

and another from somewhere as

cpc2-amer1-0-0-cust***.watf.cable.ntl.com

would these be suitable as the have "watf" in there or not ?

thanks

Those would not be suitable - you need the same watf at the front.

Also just to confirm i have upgraded the firmware on an old sb4100 with hackware and now have the hack tab, the config file i want to be using with the new mac when i get it is cmreg-mota4100-bund03.cm as it is ex cw area so ntl now ?

So long as one of the first two numbers is different, you should be OK. Eg - cpc1-watf3 or cpc3-watf5 should both be OK.

NTL and C&W use the same configs, so that is the 10/20 meg file name.

Thanks for that linscat i was wondering that myself.

So just to clarify, if my UBR is cpc1-hart4-0-0-custxxx.midd.cable.ntl.com

I would need cpc2/cpc3 etc with everthing else the same? I was under the impression I coulda have just used any mac.
