is buying a min paccage for security my part or to keep the line live. as its been live for so long as it has i was thinking that i could just order the min paccage when it cuts off. with the way im gonna set it up i could just vide the bod and let the installer set it up. and another thing does anyone recomend a type of box (im new at this stuff) the eurovox 2008 black looks good but people have said that they are having problems with it. so can someone give me recomendations of what type of box to buy and where to buy it. Thanks for all your help. |

I'd recommend the Eurovox as from what I have read it is the easiest to get working. The starview can be problematic especially in regards to firmware updates. I have heard that the dreambox is a good piece of kit with lots of options once you have it set up correctly, it all depends on whether you want to just switch on and watch or if you are the type of person who likes lots of buttons and switches to mess with. I have also heard but am not sure if it is true that all dreamboxes are second hand nowadays as they are no longer made, I personally don't like the idea of spending that kind of money on second hand gear that could have been abused in the past.
As far as the Eurovoxes are concerned I would definately go for a Max V 2008, it is new and you know it isn't a clone. An older blue or red box would still do the trick but they may be clones and getting newer fimrware will become more difficult as time goes on. I may be mistaken but I am sure that firmware for the blue box is no longer being updated. Pretty much all the problems mentioned on this site for the Eurovox are the same problems just worded differently, so if you do experience problems there are plenty of people here to talk you through a solution to get it up and running in no time at all. Most people with a Eurovox simply plug it in, do a scan and enjoy the new channels. What ever you choose to go with, good luck and happy viewing. |
