Over the last few weeks when switching on my TV the screen produced by my EV Max has been green. To solve this I have simply switched the EV Max off and on. This seemed to cure the problem. Also when not using the EV the display has been showing random letters and numbers as well as the normal time display. To-day however there appears to be no life in the box. Any suggestions as to the problem or better still any remedies.

Not heard of this one before with a Eurovox, did have a similar problem once with Telewest set top box that needed a new box to repair the problem, sorry to say it doesnt sound good to me,the only things I could suggest is that you disconnect the box from the mains and leave it for a short while, then try again, whether that will help I dont know but its worth a try....alternatively if you are comfortable with opening up the box I suppose you could try pressing the reset button perhaps, other than that I dont think you can do anything .....

Thanks for the responses and suggestions. Have just tried to install the latest firmware, no luck, still dead.
It has been suggested that it could be a power supply problem. (A£5 fix). Here's hoping. |

mine started this about three weeks ago, random numbers and lights on display then the display went dead even though i could change channels, missus turned it off yesterday by the plug to use something else and now it wont turn back on.
Tried hooking up to the pc but it appears dead. Any help would be great as im thinking about buying a new 1. I got rid of the green screen by flashing it again, but i wouldnt suggest unplugging it if you have the same problem as me. What was the solution you were told about the power fix? |

Unless you are an electronics engineer there isnt much you can do when things go wrong and you have tried just about everything, thats why I suggested unplugging from the mains at least its another avenue to go down, and of course iy may not work but at least its worth a try when you have tried everything ...Ive had it work with computers and my DVD recorder when they have locked up and indeed a digital camera too,so would humbly suggest isnt it worth a try ?

The solution of a new power supply was suggested to me by the retailer. He is going to try and get me a new one (approx £5). Unfortunately the earliest I am able to see him again is Weds 12th Sept. Will let you know of the outcome.
