Default EuroVox V Signal Help

I just bought a Genuine eurovox 2008 box. I'm having alot of signal issues although i'm getting sometimes upto 90% quality on the signal bar.
The picture either breaks up or picture is ok then makes chopping sounds. I only get the chopping on some channels and only happens at odd times, which seems 9am-3pm then 6pm-11pm like when the lines bussy.

I have bought brand new cables that are shielded as my original N*L cables were 8 years old. The Issues are still the same.

I have a 2 way splitter and have tried connection without splitter and it still stutters etc....

I have also tried the up 5mhtz and sometimes this works for hours then reverts back to choppy pictures.

I am thinking of buying this ... Cable TV Signal Amplifier Gain Booster + Patch Lead on eBay, Cable Boxes, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (item 130150797867 end time 08-Sep-07 23:36:16 BST)

Will this make my viewing less stressfull ?

You could try that, or just get a regular cheap amp from Argos first - you can return it within 16 days if it's no good - you only need the Yellow amp if using a subscribed TV box or a Modem.

Do you have a contract with Virgin ? and if so are the pictures OK on the set top box with the Eurovox out of circuit ? if you dont have a contract and are using a so called dead cable feed to your house ...not a lot you can do about it,thats the chance you take...you can always try the booster of course, but you wont know till you do ....

Yes i am on Cable modem with V*rgin that should be 20mb but very rare hit over 9mb and i was on V+ box untill cancel. The V+ box use to lag and total loss of on demand services form time to time. This is leading me to think i have a low signal which is strange as the exchange is outside my front garden wall.

The EuroVox seems to only playabout at high traffic times which is also backed up by my modem dropping speeds at the same time.

*** just done a line test on the Modem and they seem to have upped my signal as i'm getting 20mb now , so i'll give it a day or two see if it was the upgrade that was messing my TV about ***

Its all in the wording of course,up to 20 Mb or whatever is generally how they put it,doesnt mean to say thats what you will get...usually the problems you are getting that seem worse in high user times is caused by the ISP being close to being oversubscribed in any given area (ie the number of subscribers sharing a signal) when it will show up from 6pm onwards (and of course on school holidays etc) when everyone is online ...its better now than it used to be a few years ago, before broadband became widely available,in those days it was nothing to have to wait for up to an hour before getting a connection, you had to wait till some went offline before you could get on lol, ...

If the green box / street pit is right outside your house then you may have a high signal which can cause very similar problems to that of a low signal. In this case a cable simulator may be needed to emulate a longer cable feed. this will not only attenuate the high signal but correctly adjust the slope between the analogue and digital signal. but as you no longer sub to the tv package you cant get them out to adjust it for you, thats why its always best to sub to at least the minimum tv package. If your problem is what i suspect it is then a booster will only add to your problems
