I have recently moved and the previous house owner had cable installed. I was recently given a Eurovox box by a friend to enable me to obtain freeview channels. I have plugged this into the cable socket and a whole host of channels have appeared. I do not have any contract or make any payment to the cable company and therefore do not understand why or how this has happened.
I have deleted all the channels that are subscription based and am left with freeview channels, however I am wondering if using the cable connection is inappropriate and if it is likely the cable company could know? Any help appreciated. |

Worth knowing if I get one myself - I assume you can plug the cable F connector into the Eurovox, and scan, then you get all the actual channels raw, those encrypted are there also, but at least you know the frequency they are on? Can you get BBCi on this box?

Thanks for the response, I had read that the box talks to the cable company, I guess that must be there own.
As I understand BBCi is not available, however just about everything else is. However I am unfamilar with it so may be wrong. |

BBCi will be available if the Eurovox can do a blind search. The channels on satellite are hidden - ie not configured as TV services - but as type 82 - interactive services, whcih have video and audio in them. TV services are configured type 02.
Can you please tell me - can you find PIDs and SIDs for each individual channel with this box? I am thinking back to the days of Dr Overflow with satellite where you could find all channels on a mux and get all its peramaters. Thanks for your help. BTW please can someone provide me with a reliable source for the box? Thanks. |

Cannot do that. Your profile does not let me e-mail or PM you. You can send me an e-mail via this, as my profile allows e-mails from other users, and put in that your direct e-mail address then I will e-mail you directly with the info I request then you can reply to that. OK? Thanks for your help.
